Mr. Goldberg, a co-founder of the firm, has developed a concentration in the areas of real estate, corporate and commercial transactions, bankruptcy, and general and complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts.

Experienced, sophisticated investors have come to rely upon Mr. Goldberg's innovative and knowledgeable representation and effective negotiation skills in commercial real estate matters, including the sale, acquisition, and financing of development assemblages, and multi-family, mixed use, and office buildings. Combining business acumen with superior legal knowledge, Mr. Goldberg formulates strategies to successfully consummate transactions which, during the last four decades, have often included the transfer of development rights (so-called "air rights"), granting of easements, construction access and license agreements, and IRC Section 1031 like-kind exchanges. Mr. Goldberg is also well-known for aggressively representing landlords and tenants in the negotiation of sophisticated leases of retail and office premises, often negotiating against experienced counsel for the most demanding large-scale corporate and franchise tenants. Mr. Goldberg's residential real estate practice ranges from the representation of high-net-worth individuals buying, selling or refinancing a home to foreign nationals acquiring blocks of newly constructed luxury condominium units for investment. Mr. Goldberg is also frequently called upon to skillfully negotiate construction and other real estate-related agreements, with or on behalf of architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants.

During the past four decades, Mr. Goldberg has successfully litigated on behalf of his clients in federal and state courts, aggressively prosecuting and defending claims involving real estate, shareholder disputes, "business divorces," federal trademark and copyright rights, creditors' rights, bankruptcy, contract disputes and very substantial commercial collection matters. Mr. Goldberg recognizes that the protection of the client's rights must often be balanced against the economic burden of litigation and always strives to approach matters in a manner best designed to maximize results while minimizing the costs.

Mr. Goldberg has extensive experience in negotiating corporate and commercial transactions, including the purchase and sale of businesses, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, and employment, severance, and buyout agreements.
