The following is a sampling of matters in this practice area in which the Firm successfully represented its client:

In counseling a couple where each individual had children from a previous marriage, a plan was devised which included a Postnuptial Agreement and a Last Will And Testament containing a Qualified Terminable Interest Property (QTIP) Trust, thereby achieving the couple’s objective of providing for their respective children and minimizing the estate taxes imposed upon the death of the first spouse to die.

The Firm's client, a couple with significant family and charitable intentions, was advised how best to maximize income and estate tax savings to accomplish their charitable goals through a combination of bequests and charitable trusts. The plan also included the purchase of insurance through the establishment of an Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust to provide for their family members (including addressing the specific needs of a family member with “special needs”).
