The following is a sampling of matters in this practice area in which the Firm successfully represented its client:

Initiated multiple lawsuits in New York courts and, with a prominent multi-national law firm as co-counsel, an action in Hong Kong, asserting claims against client's partners in multiple international business entities to protect the client's multi-million dollar investments, resulting in a settlement benefiting the Firm's client.

Initiated litigation on behalf of the Firm's client, the owner of a prime midtown commercial building, to recover millions of dollars in damages arising out of a well-known franchisor's default of its obligations under a long-term retail space lease.

Vigorously litigated a "business divorce" involving a profitable, long-established jewelry manufacturing company including the defense of judicial proceedings commenced against the Firm's client seeking the dissolution of the company, culminating in the negotiation and consummation of a settlement agreement providing for, among other matters, a voluntary dissolution of the company in a manner which secured for the client the benefit of its substantial financial interest in the company and its share of the good will of that company.

Defended the Firm's client in protracted litigation brought by a world renowned Italian fashion designer in federal court for alleged trademark infringement under the federal Lanham Act and for alleged violations of various state statutes. As a result of the Firm's representation, the Firm's client achieved a favorable settlement which involved the client's payment of an amount representing only a small fraction of the monetary relief sought to be recovered in such action.

Successfully protected the Firm's client's rights in a trademark originally filed by the firm on behalf of the client by taking aggressive and decisive actions, compelling the offending party to remove all infringing material from its website without the necessity of the client commencing formal legal action, thereby saving the client from substantial legal fees and delay.

Represented clients of the Firm on multiple occasions in successfully defending claims brought by a bankruptcy trustee in adversary proceedings seeking to recover funds or property, the transfer of which was claimed to have constituted a preferential payment or fraudulent conveyance.
